BACKGROUND
According to the World Health Organization, approximately 830 women die each day from preventable causes related to childbirth, and 99% of these women come from developing countries. Postpartum hemorrhage, or PPH, is one of the main causes of maternal death.

TEAM
Megan is a third year Kinesiology major concentrating in Health Science. She currently works primarily with the geriatric population at a local physical therapy clinic. Her passions include accessible and affordable healthcare, as well as health policy. For this reason, she plans to pursue a duel Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies and Public Health after graduating from Cal Poly.

Mari is a third year Liberal Arts & Engineering Studies major concentrating in Usability Studies and Psychology, as well as pursuing an Ethics, Public Policy, Science & Technology minor. She actively strives towards her efforts to promote social good through her involvement with the Women Involved in Software and Hardware and Cal Poly User Experience. With her focus on human-centered design and engineering, Mari hopes to contribute to inclusion within the global community through technology.
Jackson is a fourth year Liberal Arts & Engineering Studies major concentrating in Computer Graphics and Digital Art. He is passionate about cinema and aims to one day work for large budget, visual effects driven films. Jackson is an active community member and participates in Special Olympics as a coach and volunteer. In his free time, Jackson enjoys long Sunday naps and playing volleyball.
Kaylee is a fourth year Child Development major who is also pursuing a minor in Psychology. She has always had a heart for working with children and plans to work in the nonprofit field. She has volunteered in many different sectors involving the homeless and underprivileged children. Throughout these experiences, she has found that she’s most passionate about working with children in the foster system.
